Two old friends get together for lunch. Elsa Schmidt has a lively sausage dog called Max and Harriet Carew has a huge quick tempered bald eagle called Archie (Archibald-Eagle).
Carefully separated, Archie and Max are left in Mrs Carew’s house while Elsa and Harriet go to lunch.
Max finds a way to get in and let Archie out and the two go flying. Max’s coat has a carry handle so Archie can pick him up and they fly all over Kathmandu together and fulfil a lifelong dream for Max.
The story brings together two unlikely characters. Max is challenged by his shortness and Archie is challenged by his own fearsome looks.
